I have a 1997 geo metro 1.3L, 4 cylinder engine. It has fuel injection with the water cooled intake manifold.I replaced the cylinder head, car starts and runs excellent. i needed to flush the cooling system of oil. Here is the problem, while blowing water into the radiator with garden hose, under hardly any pressure, water began spraying out of the gaskett surface area between cyl. head and intake manifold. Mostly around the two top center manifold bolts. Question, should i have used some gaskett sealer on intake? Could the gaskett fit on more than one way? I know the manifold is not warped, cause it never leaked on the old head. Can you get the gaskett on backwards somehow? Very sorry for such a long winded post, but i am still not sure how to accurately describe this one. Anyone out there had this happen, or know a fix? to seal this area of water leakage? Thanks guys!

If there's water involved, yes, you should have used sealer. I'm not 100% familiar with the newer metro 1.3L engines, but I could have sworn the intake heater was fed by a hose, not the cylinder head. I'd take a second look and make sure a freeze plug isn't missing from the cylinder head. Take a picture of the area leaking and post it if you can.
