'89 Jetta manual transmission problem
My 1989 Jetta will not engage in 1st, 2nd, 5th or reverse gears.
Anybody have ideas as to what's wrong?

sounds like shift linkage is broken. There cheap metal rods with plastic end caps. Or it just needs to be adjusted.
