Horrible gas mileage

I just bought my 96 metro about a week ago and I'm only getting about 27mpg, I've changed the air filter because it was filthy, replaced the plugs, any other recomendations?

fuel filter.. injectors.. all things i would check into as well.

Check your timing too, I had a timing gear slip on me and I lost 20 mile per gallon
