'96 EGR valve

Hi guys,

Newbie here. After reading the FAQ about cleaning the EGR valve, I need to know where to find it for my '96 Trooper and see about cleaning it out. Thanks in advance for the help.

Also would anyone know where I can get a copy of that PDF Isuzu manual?

D.

Re: '96 EGR valve

The egr is not really a problem in the 96-97's. But if you have a lot of miles and have never cleaned it, it might be worth the time.

Re: '96 EGR valve

I do have a lot of miles on this truck (150K+) and yes you are also right that I have never cleaned the EGR valve before. I have not really done much to the truck before either other than the regular oil changes, belt replacement, etc... To be honest I probably would never even thought about it until recently when the Check Engine Light came on the truck finally failed SMOG.

Great forum by the way.
