question about body work

Alright guys I got a question I want to get my body kit moulded on it's just bolted on right now. I also want to an SS style hood scoop molded on does anyone know how much I'm lookin at to get this put in. I live in Colorado if anyone here lives close that knows how to do body work. Anyone know how hard it is I moulded on my side skirts so I think I might be able to do it. Could I just get some epoxy and epoxy it to the frame of the car and than sand it and paint it or what?

Re: question about body work

i have to say. bondo is the best way. sand down the area where u want to mold, use the bondo and make a smooth surface as u can make, sand it to be molded, and then paint. presto, a new car!

Re: question about body work

wait... is it really that easy I'm realy skeptical thats how I thought it was done but everywhere I see people have the worst molding job from it cracking and peeling the paint how do I prevent that drom happening

Re: question about body work

i was sarcastic btw. bondo is a cheap way to do it, but if you are VERY careful and its a spot that wont get jarred around much(like the hood scoop) then it can work nicely. i dont have much experience with bodykits(never owned one, never will mold it even if i do get one) so i dont know what the really clean ones do. i think bondo would crack on a kit especially if it gets bumped around a little bit on driveways and stuff

Is it bad not to mold? I mean does it look weird? To me it just seems like wasted time. I know my factory side skirts aren't molded and they look just fine. So what's the deal? I guess I can understand if you want an aftermarket paint.
