Coolant sensor location

Can anyone tell me were the coolant sensor is on my 96 grand 5.2l I thought it was down under the alt. but it is not there someone told me the rear of the engine but i am not seeing anything there either.

Don't look so hard

It's right there between the alternator and the a/c compressor, just to the right/rear of the thermostat/radiator hose.

Normally that is were it is at this one only has the sensor for the gauge. the other hole has a plug in it and the gage sensor does not signal the computor on this one. first time i have ever seen one like this

Check the overflow tank my computer kept saying coolant sensor bad and i change that one and no longer have a problem.

The coolant tempature sensor on the 5.2L engine is located, if your looking at the engine from the front of the jeep, on the right side of/behind the T-Stat housing. it's right in between the T-Stat housing and the main body of the intake manifold.....

I know after 94 they only used one Sensor, but the intake still had the existing hole for the other sensor it was just plugged with a bolt. But that is the hole on the left side of the T-Stat housing (that is/should plugged).
