Cool Yet another question (a/c maybe?)

On my 02, when I shut if off there is a noise, kinda like a roar. It's hard to explain, it's kinda like being in the house with the lights and TV on and then the power going off. If you know what I mean.. A backwards roar maybe? high to low instead of low to high? Clear as mud now? LOL Sorry, I can't think of how to explain it.

Anyway, we've been told it's the a/c. Some say it needs to be recharged, but it works fine. Other say the a/c needs to be oiled?? Anyone know how you check for that or do it?? Or have any other ideas what the sound may be?

Thanks in advance!

It could be the cooling fan winding down as you shut the vehicle off. Does it do it everytime you shut it off, or with the A/C or defroster on? Open the hood and have someone shut the car off and listen to see if the fan is the noise.

If the engine is warm enough to have toe fan come on to cool the engine, it will come on with the A/C off.

If the problem is the compressor oil, you need to take it into a shop. It takes special equipment to add oil to an a/c compressor
