bug keeps stalling

whats up guys! I got a 73 superbettle that stall all the time. The generator light is always on and when i push on the brakes or turn anything on it tries to stall. Im thinking its the generator but not positive. Its only 30 amps so im figuring that its on its last leg. Any advice?

Re: bug keeps stalling

It sounds like the generator isn't charging & battery voltage is very low, Don't expect it to keep starting. I suspect you've looked & the belt isn't broken. Do you have a generator or alternator, '73 should be alternator?
