Gas mileage

My 94 normally cost about $41 to fill here in Denver. It takes about 14 gals normallly. In town I get anywhere from 17-20 and on the highway normally 25 mpg. Hope that helps.

Re: Gas mileage

one thing you'll definately find with the Mark VIII's...they respond well to maintenance.

new plugs, new filters, and they thrive.

I average 450 miles per tank. it costs me roughly $40.00 to fill up. But i drive mostly freeway, at 50 miles per trip, to and from work. That's 500+ miles a week.

Bless the IMRC's...cruising at 2000 rpms is effortless for these DOHC motors. But when you put your foot in it, you'd swear they could never accomplish 25 mpg or better!

proper air pressure in the tires, a good tune up(no plug wires on the 97-98, they use COP), and you're gonna live the fuel mileage!

Re: Re: Re: Gas mileage

I wish i was getting 450 miles per tank. last time i filled up, my message screen said 290 miles to empty. It also says I average 15.5 mpg. I do all city and back road driving, about 20 miles a day. I can't remember the last time I was on the highway for more than 5 minutes.

I think that is what you were asking me.

to directly answer the thread's intial question.

18.4 gallon tank
premium fuel recommended from the factory
typical advertised mpg for them was 17 city/26 hwy

they come with a built in range meter to tell you your avg MPG, your instant MPG, as well as your "distance to empty".

our 97 sees mostly city duty, and only avg's 14-15 mpg

Re: gas mileage

I drive about 500 miles/ week. City and freeway. My '94 fluctuates in the 21-22 mpg range. BTW I drive it hard.
