New muffler for me.

i was checkin out the Thrush mufflers. my dad told me about them and that they would give my car a good sound. how would that sound on my v6 firebird? would it give me any noticeable HP gains?

Re: New muffler for me.

Well, Thrush is now DynoMax I believe. And they do have some pretty good exhaust systems too.

Re: New muffler for me.

how is the Flowmaster Original Flows 40 Series?

http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/pe...=25&brandid=17

it says its the loudest and most powerfulest sounding one they have and its only 82$. Which is pretty good.

Re: New muffler for me.

restrictive restrictive restrictive. Its nice, and if you looking for sound go for it, just dont expect to get the performance you would from a borla, but you will notice an increase when u ditch the crappy stock exhaust.

Re: New muffler for me.

ok, thats cool. how much HP will i gain from the Flowmaster muffler? will it be noticable? i just planing on buying the muffler, and not the pipes or tips or anything. cause i dont wanna spend 300+ dollars on a whole new exhaust kit including pipes and all that good stuff. all i really want is a good low sound. and if the flowmaster doesnt give me as much HP as a borla, then thats fine. just a good low sound is what im looking for. (without buying a new exhaust kit)

Re: New muffler for me.

if ur not gonna invest with tips and new pips, i suggest to hold off. You wont get the full effect from sound or performance with original piping and tips. On mine i got new pipes after the cat, muffler and tips but kept same cat and i noticed very nice sound and improved performance. Flowmaster also does a good job of removing heat from the engine compartment.

Depends where you get it done and stuff.. I wouldnt go with Flowmaster for a V6.. better to go with Borla or Magnaflow anbd Dynomax because from what i've heard from other members, they have the best sound for a V6 and Flowmaster sounds better on a V8..
