Lightbulb rotary valves

Does anyone have ay interest in rotary valve engines (not rotary as in Mazda but piston engines with rotary valve cylinder heads) other than the work done by Coates on the CSRV deign. some thoughts please on the long term feasability of ditching cams and poppet valves all together.
free flowing heads, no valve bounce, higher compressions, more power etc etc. negative and positive thoughts please.
