2006 Sonata LX Questions

I just purchased a 2006 Hyundai Sonata LX and had some questions about its use. Does anyone know the answers to these questions:

1. With the remote, pressing it once locks the doors and sets the alarm. If I press it twice, it then sounds the horn. Is the horn just to confirm it was locked?

2. With the auto temperature, its designed so the light on the A/C button and the A/C on the display never come on even if the A/C is on. However, if you turn it all the way down to "Lo" which is the lowest setting, the light on the A/C button does come on and the A/C on the display is on. Auto is also still on. Why does it come on with "Lo"

3. If I put some weight on the passenger seat (computer bag full, couple gallons of milk), the passenger seat belt light blinks about the seat belt. Is this by design.

Thanks

Shawn

Re: 2006 Sonata LX Questions

well, sean i can help u about the seat belt thing. it is because it is measured by weight. there is a reader in the seat, that once it reaches the weight limit, about 6-8 pounds, it will tell u to put the belt on, even though no one is there, it is just measuring the weight.

Re: Re: 2006 Sonata LX Questions

Thanks. I appreciate the help. I had asked since the seat belt sensor was not working along with the Air Bag sensor. The airbag sensor was saying the airbag was on even when no one was in the seat. They had replaced the seat and I just wanted to make sure it was working properly. It seems that both the air bag and seat belt is working properly. Thanks again.

Does the LX have the 4 cylinder? What's the performance/economy like, regardless of your answer!

I always though the second press and horn honk was to set the alarm. I thought the first press was to lock the car.

Does it not tell you in the owners manual?

Re: 2006 Sonata LX Questions

I've had it for a few weeks and enjoy the car very much. I compared the Accord, Camry, Maxima, LaCross, etc. and still came back to this one. It rides nice, quite, well laid out, and feels solid. Its just a nice car. Performace is good. Economy - too early to tel right now.

Unfortunatley the questions I asked about the remote and AC etc., the answers were not in the manual.
