I have a 1996 s-10 Blazer with 4.3L CSFI vortex engine. The engine dies or runs real rough when first starting. Once it starts it runs great on the highway sometimes at stop signs it hesitates a little but not all the time. Trouble codes come up as P0102 (Mass Air Flow) and P0340 (camshaft sensor). I rep[aced the mass air flow sensor and it ran fine for 2 weeks the starting the same thing again. Then replaced camshaft sensor but didn't make any difference. I am out of ideas on where else to look

Re: 1996 Blazer starting problems
Is the check engine light on again?

Re: 1996 Blazer starting problems
I think the check engine light is burnt out. It used to come on but doesn't now.

Re: 1996 Blazer starting problems
Does it come on when you start the engine?
Turn the ignition forward to the first position and look for it.

The engine light does not come on when trying to start. It was on for quite awhile before trying to fix. I had the codes read yesterday and the erased. Started car and read codes again. Only codes P0102 and P0340 show up
