Valve for Montana load leveling system? Not airing up properly upon loading/unloading
Does anyone know if there is some kind of valve that needs turned back on after replacing these load leveling shocks? I had someone replace them with the Monroe MA824's and I 've never ONCE heard them "level" theirself out---even loading and unloading the van. Wondering if they are working correctly. The others used to make noise once in a while...when loading , unloading....etc.
Thanks! Mike |

Hi Mike,
A couple of things to check. First, does the compressor run when you turn it on at the rear of the vehicle? If yes, then you need to check the arm that is attached to the rear axle to see if it will move up or down. If the arm is seized (apparently they do this) then a liberal amount of WD-40 at the control end may help to loosen it. Second, you might want to check the fuse panel on the right passenger side of the dash. Can't remember which one it is, but it is an obscure abreviation from my recollection and a 20 amp fuse I think. Someone else may have more infor on this too. . |

THANKS! the compressor DOES run when I turn it on in the back....so I know it's not that. I will see if I can find the leveling arm...sounds like a good place to start. If that is free....I'll look for the fuse. THANKS for the GREAT help!

Hi Mike, You won't need to check the fuse if the compressor is working, but do have a look at the control unit mounted on the underside of the floor (driver's side) immediately above the rear axle. See if the linkage is free and check the harness connections. Unplug and replug to see if it was a bad connection to the leveler, OK? . |
