how fast have you guys gone?

I got up to 115 mph this morn. A buddy of my who has a Maxima SE passed me on the freeway on our way to work. I was doing about 70, he was doing about 75. I figured I just go around him. I guess he figured he wouldn't let me! I didn't know that he intended to keep me behind him, so as I gave it some gas, so did he! I never bothered to downshift, but was soon up to 115! I got a bit nervous, I don't need a ticket!!! So I let off. It was fun! But nerve racking! I get to work at 6am, so there wasn't much traffic!

Speed

Hi,

I've had my Spec V for 6 months now and I got it up to 130 mph. I think the speed cut-off is at about 135 mph(what the book says).

I know it sounds out of hand but my buddy has one to and said he had his redlining in 6th gear and was doin 145mph. I didn't believe him so i tried it, their was a slight downslop where is was doing 143mph but it was awsome.

128 MPH in 5th gear @ 6200 RPM...
Couldn't really pay attention to MPH, had to hold the wheel.. My car was shaking like crazy.

not to deflate the ego's but...

I hate to break it to you all, but you weren't really going that fast.

Perhaps a better question is "how high have you seen your speedometer read?". At speeds that high, the speedometers in economy cars are very inaccurate.

If your speedo read 143; a laser gun, or sensers on a track would probably show you at 130. Not that 130 is anything to sneeze at! That is faster than anyone should ever need to go!

Exclamation Rev. Limiter

well 4 days after getting my much awaited for spec my buddy wanted to race me with his 93 300zx...high miles but really really clean. we took off at a light on a back road that was totally straight and he's got rear wheel drive and i'm still trying to get used to the clutch so i just spun like a beyotch. BUT....not until i hit about (oh i don't really know cause i was paying attention to catching him) 6500??? rpm. did the rev limiter interrupt me and jolt the car like hell. he was totally gaining on me but low and behold in third gear i went from about a car and half length behind to my front 17'' on his rear 17'' and finally i walked him. he does have 120K on it but a Z is a Z and i feel good as hell finally wasting his ass. lucky me. i wonder what's next?
p.s. watch that rev. limiter at about 6500...it hurts.. :smoka:

What's up bro, yo your car's fuel didn't cut off after like 6200 rpms? Listen man I'm just giving you some advise, I know......trust me I know you love the car but just be careful on how your driving it. Give it a chance to break in as well. Peace:alien:

My 91 SE (r.i.p.) did 119 once - but that's where the limiter is.

Does anyone know anything about the '03 specs? I want to get one in about 5 months.

BTW, I drive a 95 Civic. 125hp, 106 ft/lb torque. I've had the speedo up to 130 twice (absolute top speed), 125 many times. 140 for the spec seems possible.
