99 Sebring LXi Coupe

I just got a 99 Sebring LXi Coupe with 94,000 Miles...The Check Engine Light went on after I filled up the gas tank for the first time and it stayed for about 2 days..then I went to Autozone to get the free Diagnotics check on it.. and it read the
Code P0174 - Oxygen Sensor Defective and/or Ignition Misfire and/or Fuel Injector (If Band 1 or 2 Codes Set Together Suspect Fuel Pressure or MAF {Mass Air Flow Sensor})
But when I went to fill up the gas tank again.. the Check Engine Light went OFF...anyone else had this problem?
I dont know when the last time the car got a Tune-Up ... so I am wanting/going to get a full tune-up... and I wanted to know WHAT You All Recommended I get done? (BTW The Oil & Filter Change Has Already Been Done)

Here is a list of services I read I should do:
Spark Plugs
Ignition Wires
Air Filter
Fuel Filter
Timing Belt
Transmission Service/Flush
Radiator Service
Oxygen Sensor
Distributor Cap and Rotor
Replace PCV
Battery Check
Check Fluids & Replenish

Anything else you all recommend I SHOULD do on my 99 SEBRING LXI???
Any and all advice will help greatly as I want to know how much to budget for this tune-up!

That looks about right except for the timing belt. I don't know when an appropriate time to change it is. But usually you would want to change the water pump and tensioner pulley with it. I am curious though, do you have a 4 or 6 cylinder?

OK...the reason I asked is because the 4 cyl is easy to change the plugs and wires out. The 6 is a bit more complicated. The spark plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor, fuel filter, PCV, air and fuel filter are all things that you could do yourself. But like I said the spark plugs are a bit more to work with, but very doable.

Re: 99 Sebring LXi Coupe

I had the same problem a year ago with my 99 Sebring Coupe. Would not start after a 10 minute ride or a 30 mile ride or being parked all day. I was told it was the fuel fillter which i had replaced. Then the engine light came on. Gas cap replaced. Autozone said that it was an emissions leak. I have had it check 5 times. Each time I was told that they could not find a leak. and the light has not gone out. Now the problem is back and the car starts when it wants to. Engine light is still on now Autozone can not get a reading from the computer chip. I have read a ton of messages from Sebring owners with the same problem. How come the Chrylser people have not come out with an answer for us yet.

Not sure what the code is but the check engine light can come on if your gas cap is not on tight enough. This may have been your problem being that it occurred and got fixed when you filled up.

Re: 99 Sebring LXi Coupe

You might want to look at the distributor. I had to replace my ingition coil witch is in the actual distributor....
Maybe the coil make till the engine gets hot then clunks out. Look up an ignition coil, distributor on Autozone and youll see what im talking about...
