radio trouble

I have a 2000 catera and the radio won't turn on when the car is first turned on. It will work fine when the car has run for abt 5 min, then will show no symptoms. Other items sometimes affected are the trunk release (with remote or dash button), and the fuel door opener (with remote or dash button). I don't know what the prob might be.

Thanks

Re: radio trouble

I have since sold the car. Many mechanics that I talked with seem to think it was an electrical ground problem. Good luck trying to diagnose the problem without the schematics that are available only at the Cadillac dealer, and are under password protection on their tech computers.

I liked the car when it ran, but had too many little bugs that made it a pain to own. Additioinally, if you have a 1998 you probably have over 100,000 miles on the engine and a timing belt will be in order for you, this is an interference engine and will be toast if the belt breaks, just a heads up.
