Question swap automatic to manual transmision possible???

i searched through the threads and couldnt find anything on this but here goes

i have a 95 eclipse with a garret tdo5 turbo and a greddy fmic and there bov and ic piping, all thats messing it up is the transmision "automatic"
i could leave it like that but lets face it manual is just way better, just out of curiosity is it posible to just convert to a manual? and if so is there any modification to the body or frame,or is it just a matter of swaping parts out and changing the shifter housing and things like that, this seems to be the place to come for info like this, so let me know if it can be done... thanks for your time.

with money anythings possible, sure but you have to do modifications, you need a clutch system, cut holes in the firewall where cables would go through, the petal ect.... i converted one car but not a talon...or 'eclipse

The manual transmission from any 2g DSM will bolt to the motor just the same.

If you know your way around a DSM it would be an easy and straightforward swap, the most frustrating part is swapping the pedal assembly and running the hydraulic lines for the clutch, and the shifter cables.

Minimal drilling is involved, but generally idiocy will lead to disaster, or, more likely an incomplete project.

Try searching again, this subject has been brought up many many times in the past. Using the keyword "swap" returned lots of results for me.

why not find a similar year car with a blown engine. Or buy another car; swap parts; sell the auto. I shouldn't be talking since I'm putting a turbo on a non-turbo. But the price difference between a stick and auto shouldn't be that much.
