89 Trooper head repair

Do any of you Trooper die-hards have any helpful hints for me in this project...I need to remove the head, have it worked over and put it back on with new gaskets. Any tricks-to-the-trade that might help make this easier? I'm a back-yard mechanic. Thanks. -jim

Re: 89 Trooper head repair

Be very careful when installing the timing belt. On this engine, when the timing marks are lined up, #4 is at TDC not #1. Otherwise its not too bad. BTW, we always leave the intake on the head until we have it out. It is almost impossible to get to 2 of the intake bolts with it still in the vehicle.
