dsm interchangeablity

someone once told me that hyundai's have 5 year old dsm motors and that the parts are interchangeable. is that true? i figured this would be the best place to ask.

I think whoever was telling you that was pulling your leg.

Re: dsm interchangeablity

you should also slap that person. that is true to an extent. I have seen someone put the dohc head off of a dsm on to a hyundai. there are some parts that can be done but its really only one way us to them

Re: dsm interchangeablity

some REALLY old hyundais had mitsubishi motors and therefore 4G63's were fairly simple swaps. However, modern hyundais have engines of their own design. Hyundais and Kias still have mitsubishi electrical systems though.
