I am having Engine troubles with my Jaguar. It is a 1993 XJ-6 Vanden Plas.
The car is a Canadian model in case it matters. This Jag is equiped with a 4.0L Inline 6. I have owned the car for 2 or 3 years now. When I bought the car the engine would start and continue to run in a normal manner. Latter on I notticed the engine developed cold starting issues. At this point once the engine was started it would run very well. When the engine was warmed up it would aslways start as it should. This past spring the Engine has become a pain in the ass to get started. Good luck keeping it running. The engine seems like a piece of trash (atleast the symptoms make it seem this way). The engine also has some knocking and pinging now when I try to get it to stay running. Nothing (to my knowledge) has been changed / adjusted on this engine. I have the FSM (Factory Service Manual) and Hayes manual which I am studying in a frantically scramble to get the engine running. I am moving in approx 6 weeks, and would much rather drive the car then tow it. ANY ADVICE AT ALL WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED! Thanks in advance... Matty |
