Good kill in the Galant yesterday

So, I'm rolling down 212th in the GVR4, and I notice an s2k infront of me... I move over a lane and we both slow down to ~20 for some railraod tracks.

As soon as we're clear of them, we both gun it, he got a little jump cause I was really off boost, but it spooled in a second and by the top of 2nd gear I had him by 1 and a half cars. By the top of third I was at least two bus lengths ahead of him.

I don't know what he had done to his car, but at the next light he gave me a really funny look.

Yeah I'm sure, my car went 13.6 and I was driving like a douche and missed 4th gear that pass.

Re: Good kill in the Galant yesterday

13.6 is a pretty sweet run for a Galant. Modded obviously?

Re: Good kill in the Galant yesterday

Can we get a list of mods that you've done. You have to drive an S2k like you hate it in order to make it go fast.

Good kill, those things can haul.

But 13.6 seems way too slow for beating an S2K by a couple of buslengths in just 2nd and 3rd gear.

Most S2000's run low 14s due to drivers not driving the car like it was stolen to get it be at it's peak. Their low torque numbers along with the peak torque being SOO high up in the power band makes them hard to get off the line without a bog.

Mid 13s to a low 14s is deffinately a few car lengths.

I've never driven one, but from what I've read and from people who own them. They say it's a pain to get them off the line quick, but they're pretty speedy cars once moving... especially in the turns.

Re: Good kill in the Galant yesterday

13.6 is pretty fast for a GVR-4, list your mods like others have said.

Thanks.

Re: Good kill in the Galant yesterday

Christ, people are seriously under-estimating Galant VR-4's in this thread. You guys have any idea about the car at all?

Re: Good kill in the Galant yesterday

I thought that galant VR4's were regular galants with eclipse turbo power plants? In that case then he better have some decent monds because unless the S2k driver sucked (could be possible) he should've been left in the dust after the launch....

The galant vr-4 is a great car (2.0 turbo awd) but with awd power loss, and going from 2nd gear an s200 should tear into that car (I would think). unless of course he has some real mods. Whats your trap btw?
