Angry new 1g eclipse owner w/ SAGging ROOF!!!

I just bought a 1990 eclipse with a saggy interior roof and its driving me crazy!

I bought a can of adhesive spray that is suppose to fix the problem, but I can't seem to get the cover off of the automatic seat belt railing to take a peek inside.

Anybody know how to take the darn cover off the railling, Please help!

Re: new 1g eclipse owner w/ SAGging ROOF!!!

hate to tell you this but just spraying adhesive up there will only last for a couple days. to redo it you have to take the whole headliner down and wirebrush/sand the crappy old foam off before you reglue the fabric

you dont want to sand it. just use a wire brush and get all the old foam off. you also dont want to use the same old headliner.

My Oldsmobile has the same thing. TOok it to a little tiny shop where all he does is linens and things for cars. Going to charge $150 to do the whole top. Not my car anymore, so I aint paying. Find little places... theyll do it.

Thanks for your response, but $150 is a little too much just to fix a head liner. I'm able, so this is something I rather do myself..

Thanks again!

Thanks a bunch. That link is going to help a lot, but I still need to figure out how to take out the auto seat belt cover.

I just changed the speakers in the car and I took ALL the panels out fine, but just can't figure this one out. Somebody HELP please!

-Phillip

p.s. I never expected so many responses, so thank you everybody for your time and I hope there is somebody out there who knows the trick to take out the cover for the auto seat belts. I'm out.

Re: new 1g eclipse owner w/ SAGging ROOF!!!

Just pull hard. There are little plastic nubs on there that are in holes. All you have to do is take one end at a time and pull each one out. There are like 3-4 of them I think.

I took mine off when I painted my interior, but I don't have the car anymore so I'm not sure if this is what you're talking about.
