1996 Grand Caravan Fault Codes - Help??
Hi All, Newbie here. I've got a 1996 Grand Caravan with the 3.3l engine. The check engine light came on and after going through the code checking process, I ended up with codes 12(start); 54(????); 32(????) and 55(end). Can anyone let me know what codes 54 and 32 mean and what I might do to fix them? Thanks!

Re: 1996 Grand Caravan Fault Codes - Help??
I have a manual here that only goes up to 95, maybe the codes are the same, 54-no sync pickup signal, (I think this is the cam sensor) and 32-an open or short in the EGR solenoid circuit OR EGR failure, required change in fuel air mixture not detected ( this to me sounds like an 02 sensor. How does it run , any problems???

Did you figure out if it was the EGR or O2 sensor? I have a 95 grand Caravan and its throwing a code of 32 which from what I found can mean any of the following:
32 (1984 only) power loss/limited lamp or circuit 32 EGR gases not working (1988) - check vacuum, valve 32 (1990-92, all but Turbo) computer didn't see change in air/'fuel ratio when EGR activated - check valve, vacuum lines, and EGR electrical No 95 listed but its probably the same as the 90-92. |
