Our turn signals have been intermittant for some time.
Recently, they've been getting less and less reliable. It's to the point where it's becoming a safety issue, because every time I want to change lanes, I have to invent a new procedure to get the darn things to work (if they work at all.) For about a year, I could apply light pulling pressure to the turn signal itself and the turn signal would work. Now it's to the point where the high beams come on accidently before the signal will flash. Tonight I had to turn on the 4-ways to get the turn signal to work. My question is if the 4-ways still work is it a waste of time and money to go buy a new Turn Signal / Hazard Flasher Module? I always hate to throw money at a problem, but if someone thinks it just might work I'll give it a try. I'm praying that this issue isn't BCM related. |

I'd try the flasher module first. I think the hazards work off a separate circuit from within the flasher module. It's quite a coplex unit. If fiddling with the stalk works then i would look at that as the culpri first.

Re: Turn Signal Grief!
Well I went to the Dodge dealer today and asked my trusty technician what he thought the problem might be. He looked at the blinker and played with the flashers. and the blinkers failed (For the first time in my life the problem actually re-occured at the dealer)
His thought? The stalk. Price? $170 My thought? The flasher module. Price? $60 Which one did I buy? The one for $60 of course! I'd like to think it was my intuition, but it was the price. (If you're going to throw $$$ at a problem, you don't start with the most expensive part!) Brought it home, took 5 minutes to replace it; voilla. Fixed! My thanks to Vats & Vipergg for your input. |
