Unhappy 86 jeep electrical help

I just purchased a 1986 automatic, carburated, jeep cherokee. The problems that i've run nto is that i will be driving along and everything will be working fine then all of a sudden my blinkers, windshield wipers, heat and radio will all shut off. Then withing 5-10 minuted they willcome back on. I don't think its a fuse problem because then they wouldn't come back on. Does anyone know anything about the electrical or where i can find electrical information online? I live in alaska so when winter hits its gonna be bad to not have heat and windshield wipers. Thanks so much for your help

Re: 86 jeep electrical help

I had the same problem with one of my vehicles, it was a faulty ignition switch, one of the wires off the ignition switch sends power to the fuse block to power all those items. If the wiring and fuse block are the same for 86 and 88 it would be the brown wire coming from the ignition switch to the fuse block. The switch is not expensive and is located under the dash on the steering column.
