How do u know when u need to replace a coil pack? My 02 ranger take 3-4 sec to start, but it drives fine. I will turn it off then turn it back on and it starts fines. Its just when it sits for awhile it does not like to start right away. I had the starter and alternator check good and has a new battery. Could it be the fuel pressure regulator? The fuel pump runs. Im not sure what to do! It seems like this forum only responds to if you could own a ranger agian would u do it! The people with questions go unanswered. Any input would be nice thx!

Re: Coil Pack
I don't believe this has anything to do with the coil pack. Since you checked the starter, battery, and alternator I suspect your haveing some sort of cranking issue? Not a starting concern? (Am I getting warm?)

Have you checked for spark or the fuel pressure.Do a fuel pressure test also.A very low fuel pressure below specs will cause not to start very good also.Basically it could be the fuel pump not pumping very well and starting to go weak.

Re: Coil Pack
yep, could be the fuel pump starting to go weak
how many miles on your spark plugs? how many miles on your fuel filter? what kind of gas do you use? high octang fuel starts quicker. |
