Brake Master Cylinder Q: Is It Safe To...

use the after market brake master cylinder for my '98 VW Jetta even though it doesn't have the safety pin to hold the fluid resevoir like the original one?

I heard that it's pretty hard to loosen the resevoir on it's own w/out the safety pin, but am I taking a chance with my life by using the after market or will it stay in place or is there some sort of accessory for the after market brands to hold the fluid resevoir in place, like a clamp of some sort.

ANY help is GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks,

Raymond

As long as the reservoir snaps into the master's rubber sealing grommet snugly & doesn't leak it should be fine.

You could use a large zip tie..... or just drill a hold in the aftermarket one.
