Angry Finally! (looters < Karma)

Kinda sad it had to come to this...

New Orleans police killed four looters who had opened fire on them as rescue teams scoured homes and toxic waters flooding streets to find survivors and recover thousands of bloated corpses.

A fifth looter was left in critical condition but no more details were available about the incident on Saturday in a city where authorities are slowly regaining control after a wave of looting, murders and rapes in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.

"Five men who were looting exchanged gunfire with police. The officers engaged the looters when they were fired upon," said New Orleans superintendent of police, Steven Nichols.

On another note this picture really shocked me on the power of the storm....

Re: Finally! (looters < Karma)

What irks me is how the cops were like, OMG, we killed some people! AHHH this is a huge setback.

Are you kidding me? They were shooting at you. The deuschbags got what was comin' to 'em.

About time. I hope the rest of the looters learn from this.

Looters shouldn't be killed for the looting, but its a whole different story as soon as they opened fire.

Re: Finally! (looters < Karma)

just because of the storm does not give the people the right to steal the goods or loot. its blindingly obvious that most of them weren't even takin essentials, i saw a clip on the news here an people were stealing designer clothes an tvs, not things like food or clean water. i think its damn right that the lotters got shot, whether they shot at the police or not.

That is so sad, seeing the cops doing it too. While its true that they probably can't do anything about it at the moment, cause where would they place the criminals, but to see them do it too really sucks.

Re: Finally! (looters < Karma)

well.... i guess if the cops were in street clothes we'd feel differently wouldnt we? they'd still be cops. we just wouldnt necessarily know it.

Re: Finally! (looters < Karma)

After watching that video, my first impression was "WOW!", unreal. I couldn't believe the cops were blatantly doing that in front of the tv cameras while they were rolling and being interviewed. Stuff like this lessens the impressions of people in that area, especially ones who are supposed to uphold the law, by others around the country and around the world. I would expect to see actions like that in Third World countries, or those countries who are more corrupt.

Re: Finally! (looters < Karma)

That seen was interesting, it’s not like they were beating each other & running around buck wild in all sorts of mass chaos & anarchy, it looked really quiet & calm in there. I bet after everything settles in a month or two those 2 cops will be out of a job.
