"clunks" when brakes applied first time after going in reverse

2003 Windstar. Not everytime, but ususally, after going in reverse and proceeding forward --- the first time I put the brakes on there is a definte "clunk" under the car. Seems like it is toward the back end of the van. Sometimes when I put the brakes on going reverse there is a small "clunk". The carshop is puzzled. No ideas. We also do have the epidemic of "door ajar" problems.... and the back right window not always opening or closing.

I'm experiencing the same clunk on my 95. I just got done driving over 700 miles on vacation and did hear this clunk durning our drive while braking. I have not gotten a chance to look into why this is happening. The ABS and Brake light is on most of the time. I will try to post back when I learn of the cause.

I was able to take my rear brakes apart and found the wheel cylinders were leaking. The brake fluid was causing the brakes to grab causing the clunk. Have your brakes inspected.
