When i start my car first thing in the morning it turns over but just will not catch. When i put a cap full of gas in the carburator it will then catch and run. Is this problem my carb or do i have a fuel pump problem? Please help.

Re: problems starting ( cold )
Seems like the carb float needle is not allowing the fuel to stay in the bowl overnight. You need a new float needle, sounds like.

The float needle is in the carb. Its in the bowl in the carb. It sits under the thin sheet metal that lines up the float in the carb housing. That needle is worn out. It allows fuel in the carb reservoir until it fills then the float rises and closes off the flow by forcing the needle down to stop the flow.
