97 Cutlass Supreme SL - REAR STRUT Q

Can anyone tell me how to replace a rear strut on a 97 Cutlass Supreme SL? I have one that is making a ton of noise. All the fluid has leaked out of it over the last month or two... now it just bangs like crazy when driving.

Someone said there is a rubber boot that is hard to get off also? Any suggestions?

Thanks!
brian

Re: 97 Cutlass Supreme SL - REAR STRUT Q

Purchase a "Quik-Strut" Gabriel Part Number G56727 - pretty simple, remove the tire, remove the caliper and secure to the fender, mark the location the nuts holding the bottom of the strut (remember to place these "bolts" back in the way you took them out, remove the bolts holding the top mount and reverse the procedure for the install. The QuikStrut is more expensive however, between the time and effort (not to mention if the upper mounting hardware needs to be replace it will cost ou even more $$$) that's the way to go
