Apple iPod Mini vs Creative Zen Micro

Hey guys, i want to buy an mp3 player soon, and i've narrowed it down to these two players. It's the $200 4 gig iPod mini, vs the $200 5 gig Zen Micro

Which would you choose? or which is better? and why? thanks

Also the reason i didn't post this in the tech forums is because there just isn't enough traffic in that part of the forum. I think i'd get better replies here since many people may have them already and can give mesome opinions. thx again

We could go on and on discussing the pros and cons of both players, but when it comes down to it, both of them are going to play your music.

Personally, I use the iTunes library to organize my music so an iPod only made sense. Also, I like the scroll wheel on the iPod much more than on the Zen, the Zen is way too unresponsive.

I'd say take a look at the iRiver H10 series. I bought the 20GB version a couple months ago and love it. The color screen and user interface are the best I've seen. Makes my brother with an iPod real jealous.



But like eversio said, all it comes down to is playing music. So choose the one that plays the most music for the price.

My friends Zen is real nice. A lot smaller then I thought they were. I didn't mind the scroller at all.

well...i would go with the ipod( i love mine, and its simple to use) but if you dont have a cell phone and are planning on getting one, or you do have one and are planning on switching, jsut wait about another week....cingular is coming out with a cell phone that is also an mp3 player...it is susposed to be kick ass

I like the Ipod Mini since my brother bought one no too long ago and he enjoys it and its small and delivers good sound and is pretty durable... you can drop that things many times without breaking. The only bad thing is when the batterey starts dying out after 18 months....Then you have to buy a new battery for it.

ive noticed around school that ipods are love-em-or-hate-em items. sorry to generalize but the preps get their ipods and the other, more cost sensitive people, go with usually an iriver (mentioned above) or the dell dj which is really startin to boom at my school. my mom's gettin a zen micro for her bday though and im pretty impressed cuz they play the radio (which i dont think ipods do) and as mentioned, hold more music for the money. in my opinion, apple uses the scrolling wheel as a sales gimmick, where creative labs sells products that hold more music for the money than comparable competitors, while playing the radio. i say go with the ZEN MICRO

ipods are expensive, and I guess it does seem like most white preps have em. WHatever though, they are a great product. Does suck that it doesn't have FM though. I like it's simplistic design and it's very easy to use. The scroll wheel is awesome, it's not a marketing tactic or gimmick, it really is useful

my sister has a Zen Micro.. works good enough. Her boyfriend is a programmer for Microsoft, he buys nothing but the best.

I have a Creative MuVo TXFM 512mb. More than enough memory for me, and the thing doubles as portable memory stick. I like it.
