Unhappy MY SON's BLAZER GONE CRAZY HELP SOS!!

Hi,
I am new to this whole Blazer deal. My son has a 1997 Blazer (unfortunatly). I am going to start out with some history!
My son started out with a Doge Intrepid but it was totaled out by a Dodge Truck 3 weeks before Christmas. My son then decided he wanted to have something alittle sporty, pretty normal for a 18 year old. So thats how he got the SUV from Hell!
When he bought the Blazer the guy told him the airbag light just stays on and that the airbags do work. About 3 days after he got it he figured out the hard way that the fuel gauge doesnt work either. He ran out of gas when the fuel gauge reads 1/2. We put gas in and filled it up. The gauge went to full but never does it read less than 1/2????? Then about 1month ago he called me from work and said his dome light wont shut off when he shuts the door???? His dad took the bulb out of the dome light. Next day the lights under the dash wouldnt shut off......so again we removed the bulbs. Then about three more days past and the electric door locks wouldnt work to lock the doors so he is using the key to lock up! About one week ago he called us again "Come quick Im out of gas again the Blazer wont start" So we rush out to rescue him again...and chew him out for not keeping the tank full since the fuel gauge dont work! NOW TODAY-----> He called again "HELP I just filled the tank with gas yesterday and it died on me again, bring me gas someone must have sipened my gas out" Again we rush to where he was stuck at with gas can in hand. This time it wasnt so easy, he wasnt out of gas cause when we tried to put more in, it started running all over the ground ( This is terrible considering gas is $3.19 a gallon now). His dad tried to start it over and over no luck. Had to have it towed home another $45.00. Now it sits in my driveway. After reading lots about the 1997 Blazer i am scared to death!!!!! We have very little money as we have 6 children and I am afraid my son wont have transportation for work as he works 6pm to 4am tomarrow night.
I am hoping BLAZER LT could give some advice. Sounds like he is very knowledgable about this year of blazer. Could all these problems be connected with the famous igintion switch problem ive read about here?? If so could you tell me how to find the module box? Remember I know nothing about working on cars i am just a desperate mom that needs to make sure her son can get to work. Thanks so much for reading.
