Merc C230 a good buy?

Hey all, I was previously considering a nissan 350Z or Infinity G35 coupe and came across the Merc c230. The C230 has much better gas mileage ( a huge advantage since gas has doubled ) and that beautiful Mercedes look. However, before I buy I wanted some feedback on performance and any problems associated with the vehicle.... Thanks All.

I love mine, I'm a hatchback guy, I love the flexibility of the fold down rear seats, we don't have kids, and my last hatchback, a 93 MX-3 had exactly 2 passengers in the back seat over the course of the 4 yrs i owned the car. I was looking at the new tiburon, th acura rsx and the honda si, when i came across this on autotrader. Its bigger than both, far more comfortable and the glass top with the biggest sunroof i've ever seen hooked me quickly. I do a lot of highway driving, 130 mils a day, this car gets me 32 hwy and 22 city for an average of about 28 overall (the computer will tell you your milage precisely) I bought mine certified pre owned in feb for 18k with 42k miles on it. I had to replace the front rotors at 60k and pads all around, other than that, no problems, although a service A runs 200$ and service B is 325, it requires premium too (91 octane)...I was dissapointed to hear that they d/c'd them for 06, but i still think theyre a great car for the $. Please post again if you have any specific questions, i did a lot of web research before buyng this car and would be glad to share it with you.....

Re: Merc C230 a good buy?

you cant go wrong with either car. the g35 won awards two years ago and the mercedesd c -class won awards this year (shared with the smaller lexus...whatever it's named) as best entry-luxury.

I'm a mercedes (car) guy (ever since i boiught my 240) and they are wonderful cars thet get looks everywhere. plus most people assume you spent WAY more than you did.

On the other hand if you want to do any modding, there isn't much out there for the c where as the nissan will be picked up quick by modders.

(interesting note: my truck is a nissan and i love it too!)

have fun purchasing and l;et us know what you got
