Would it be possible to put a 1997 or later Trans Am front bumper cover on a 1994 25thTrans Am? You know.......for that more wicked look.

97 was the same bumper but to use a 98+ bumper. You would also need to change the front bumpers.

Doesnt a 1997 front bumper have 4 fog lights instead of 2? To use a 98+...I would have to do what??

put a ram air hood on your TA....less work and all the bad ass...
That sleek front bumper is sexier then a 98+ in my oppinion. So keep that 97 look just make it wicked by adding a hood.

I've seen the entire front end, fenders, hood, and bumper from the '98+ Trans-Ams on a '94. So it is possible. If the fog lights and what not are different/more, you'd just need to add some electrical work in as well as lining up the bodywork.

heh, thanks...and unfortunately I don't have any pictures. It was a friend of mine from school who did it and I just remember asking him what year it was thinking it was newer when he said it was a '95 with newer bodywork on it. It looks just like a newer year Firebird if you're worried it wont line up right. It really just depends on if you like the earlier or the later body design.

you need to change a lot more than the front bumper. you'll need to change the hood, fenders, lights (and light assembly mechanisms), and I believe the core support. this doesn't count little things like the turn signal lenses, fog lights, etc.. don't forget you'll need to modify some wiring as the 98+ are 4 headlights, not 2.
I'm not sure about the radiator assembly, whether it'll just bolt up, or if you have some modifications. finding entire front clips/ f-bodies that aren't wrecked in the front isn't the easiest as these cares are usually smashed in the front. sometimes they're on ebay though. I have seen them there. It can be done, but at what point is it still worth it (cost and time)? you may as well sell your current ride and buy the one you really want. |

I would never sell my Trans Am! I just wanted it to resemble the newer version of the Trans Am.
