wire harness problem

Hey i just found out that stock harness that came with my b16 is a bit different. Some guy told me that its better if i use my stock si harness? I saw one of the plugs on the firewall and its a square plug. The b16 harness doesn't have that. Well he just told me its easier if i use the stock si harness. Is this true? Thanks.

the b16 harness is no good except for the plugs bro. It being right hand drive and all, its backwards anyways. just use the b16 harness for plugs, and wires if you need them, and use the si harness to plug into the motor

im pretty sure the hf harness will work fine with the si engine hes throwin in there. the main difference between the si/hf harness and the dx, is that theyre wired for mpfi and the dx is dpfi....

yeh, what we did for my swap, like eightohone said, was use the si harness, and add four more wires + a ground (2nd o2, knock, vtec oil pressure swith, vtec solenoid). you take the b16 harness, and cut off the four plugs for those four things. label them, and solder them on and put heat shrink tubing over them, and eventually wire loom. Now, if you're feeling lazy and have 160 bucks to blow....send your pr3 ecu (or probably pw0 too) out to jdmhondaparts....and have katman put the mugen chip in your ecu (pr3 program is called pr3.mds), MDS=mugen disabled sensors. this program disables the knock, 2nd o2, and vtec oil pressure switch, along with no speed governor, customized vtec x-over, and rev limiter, and more aggressive fuel and ignition shit. so, what im getting at is that if you got that....you'd only have to add one wire (vtec solenoid) plus a ground (i think) to you're si harness (if you can get it back-otherwise go to U pull It or something) for vtec to engage. by the way, im really surprised that you got the entire SiR/XSi harness with your b16....mine and evan's came cut off right before where the ecu plugs would be. (of course we both got ours from jdmhondaparts). sorry for the length....hope i've helped out a little......

if you can get your si harness back...i would just use that, add the one wire (vtec solenoid) + ground (i think) and you would have just saved yourself 75. plus, that harness is using the 3 wires that you chip will be disabling (if the mugen program you're getting is the same one that i was looking into.) sammy - i really need to get a mugen chip put in MY pr3 ecu, cuz i've gotta give the one that im using back to my friend. if i get you my ecu....how much will he charge me? (mugen chip + labor) any assistance appreciated

Well let me ask him for you. He lives in San Jose , Cali. Shipping should be like 3.50 ? You're looking at like 57 total shipping included. I'll let u know asap. Didn't you send your ecu out already??
