Buying bike affected by season?

I am going to buy a bike sometime in the near future and I was wondering if the cost of bikes are affected by the season. When my brother put his up for sell, it was the winter and it didn't sell til spring. I was just wondering if the prices will be more negotiable in the now, in the winter, or in spring?

Re: Buying bike affected by season?

There is NO doubt that the best time to buy a bike is fall/winter because people are desperate to sell for whatever reason they might have.

The best time to sell a bike is spring because the season is new and fresh and new people want to get into the sport.

Thumbs up

Hooray, thanks for the tip Tangie, I'll sell my bike come next spring for better value. Gotta get the newbs when they're fresh off the MSF before heading off to their Yamaha dealer.
