Question Steering Wheel controls, Aftermarket head unit

I have a question, is it possible to keep the steering wheel audio controls with an aftermarket head unit? The stock head unit is a Pioneer, but the one i want to put in is a Kenwood. However if I got a pioneer do you think I could still keep the controls? Also, does anyone know how to bypass parking brake governer so I could play DVD's while driving?

oh lord ... another idiot. Why on earth would you wanna watch DVD's while driving ? Ignorant people like this are going to cause mobile video stuff to be outlawed - you will cause an acident sooner or later. Unfortunately, bypassing the ebrake switch isn't that hard.

There is a box made by a company that lets you retain the factory controls. It doesn't matter who makes the head unit for the OEM, the stuff is rarely compatible with equipment the same company sells as aftermarket.

Re: Steering Wheel controls, Aftermarket head unit

I don't want to watch DVD's while driving, but I wanna have the option so that when I'm taking my niece somewhere, I could just pop in a DVD for her. I know what you mean though. I can't stand people that talk on the phone ( no hands-free) and drive. They never signal, they don't have a clue wtf they are doing. Anyhow, do you know where I can pick one of these boxes up from and what it is called?
