gas mileage& codes

Hey all. My 95 ex 4.0l is getting terrible gas mileage between 8-10 sometimes worse. This is way below what i was getting a few months ago. I got codes today and they were 332 and 335 both point to the egr valve. I have read alot in many forums and iv come to no conclusions. I'm getting a ce after the vehicle runs for 10-20 minutes. Anyone w/ similar problems? I have read that this problem could be attributed to a dpfe sensor. Thanks in advance....

I have this same exact problem w/ my 95, cept I only got the 332 code. Im going to try replacing the DPFE Sensor soon, as well as cleaning both sides of the throttle body. Ill let you know how it turns out. Also, I have pretty much NO power and it smells like gas is just pouring out of the exhaust, yours similar?

Re: gas mileage& codes

You might want to replace the egr valve, that will rob you of gas mileage if the valve is worn. If the valve is stuck closed, than sometimes you will get a exhaust smell inside the car. EGR is very vital, so if it is bad, you really want to change it.
