Blowing a sub or amplifier

I have seen devices that will blow a nearby amp or sub (I'm not sure which, but it made the car stop "thumpin'") has anyone seen or heard of anything like this? If so what are they and where can I get one?

My old neighbor had one installed in his Bronco... I live near a DIY carwash, and these people who want to come out on Saturdays to "get they thomp on" or have a fiesta get REALLY annoying. My wife and I have actually had to leave the house on Saturdays to get away from the noise. I have no idea how it works

if its that loud just call the cops. around here they call it disturbing the piece and they will ticket them, or make them turn it off.

Doesn't work... by the time the cops usually get there, the perp is gone... I've tried that numerous occasions.

Re: Blowing a sub or amplifier

im in the same boat
but a device to blow amps and subs sounds expensive?

is it a EMP?

just keep calling the cops
eventually itll go away
mine did

these kids sit over there and polish there wheels and paint for hours with them on
so if you call the cops enough times eventually they will catch one

the DIY is right behind my garage and it gets loud here too
but since i started calling the cops its cut down dramatically

Re: Blowing a sub or amplifier

Just tell the cops that they are washing there cars and drinking or street racing. I've found that the only way to get cops somewhere in a hurry is to lie to them. The only harm it does is they just phone back saying they didn't find anything there.
Funny hey, cops are never there when we need them but, always there when we don't...

I've never heard of such a device that would do that and can't for the life of me figure out how it would work. I'm an electronics tech in the navy and i work on some pretty outrageous stuff (think the movie "Enemy of the State"). It's a shame that people do this but being a person that has an amp and subs installed in my truck I hope that these products don't exist. In my defense though I always try to be courteous to those around me and keep my music (mostly country anyway) to a decent level when I'm in a residental area.

People who are courteous with loud stereos do not bother me... It's when they have an amateur stereo contest at the DIY car wash, when people come out to "get thay thump on" that bothers me. I need to talk to my old neighbor I guess. He's not in good shape and has pretty bad cancer, so I should probably make a point to talk to him anyway.

i am probably your worst nightmare because i install the systems in lots of cars and make them as loud as they want them. but i dont make them sit and play them all day in 1 spot. i lay mine when i am driving and thats it, but mine is not as loud as many of them on the street.

I, honestly, don't even see how or why someonewants a stereo that loud in their car... you can'treally hear anything that loud, and it gives me a headache when I'm in one

my stereo is for sound quality. i only have 1 10" sub to get the bass i need. but i have done many systems that have 4 12" or 4 15" subs and it is rediculous. but if they are paying i can t stop them. its their hearing and their ticket when they get it.

Yeah, I think 1 10" in a truck is good... I had 2 15"'s in my old honda on a 200W amp, and that was good, but not overpowering. Still got my 200w amp... it may find its way into my truck at some point.
