Pics of my taillights

Finally got around to repainting my taillights. Thanks to Xplocivic, I was able to use oven cleaner to remove the old paint, which was painted too dark and not very straight by the guy I bought them from. Here's a pic of the stripped tails:

I didn't like the clear look, so I painted them again and they came out great:

I'm diggin' 'em.

Good job, my apprentice!! Looks nice, I'm glad you repainted them and didn't stay all clear. Cops just love all clears and they will ticket you for them every chance they get. Looks just like mine.

I know, I know, my trunk lid is kinda off a little so my right inner tail light looks crooked. I can't figure out how to adjust the trunk. Oh well.

I used one coat of Testor's Candy Apple Red paint. No clear coat as of yet. I might put some on if I feel like it.

I made sure to make the coat very light so you could still see through them during the day. I had to paint them before work because I would've had to drive about 25-30 miles in the dark on the way home and for sure I would've gotten a ticket. I think it looks really nice too.

BTW, anyone with a 5th gen think about switching the light bulbs on their outer tails, so that you could paint them red on top? I think it would work, save the reverse and outer lights. But I think it might actually work.

Did you ever see it before? It looks pretty much the same except the paint job is better.

Rene, maybe he was color blind... most color blind people will see some sort of variance... i.e. red = green.... green = red and I mean, green and blue are kinda close - maybe he just thought it was a light red

Actually, the car is registered under my dad's name, so he can find out my dad's house if he wants, which is in my hometown that's, well, not in the orlando area.
