1990 engine/trans swap HELP!?!

i own a 1990 ford probe GL. its got the 4 cyl. 2.2 l w/ automatic trans. i have 120000 miles on it and im looking to but the V6 probe motor with a manual trans it in. first off, how much work is this project going to be, i know that it will by no means be easy, but is it reasonable to even attempt. second, what is the V6 engine called for the 90 probe. is it the same v6 they used in the newer model probes? if not, can i put a v6 from the newer models in my older model. and last, where can i purchase an engine, besides getting one from my local junkyard and having to rebuild it. thanks to anyone that can help me.

going to the v6 is alittle crazy and cost effective. your better off just geeting all the turbo stuff from the gt. but you cannot fit the 2.5 from the second generation in a first g.
