1999 Cavalier Z24 window
My power window isn't operating properly. It will go down, but won't go up. I'll press the button and it will go up 1/2 an inch at a time and then I have to wait for five minutes and it will go up another 1/2 inch. I thought the track might be blocked, but I took off the door panel and everything looks good. I'm wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem? I think it may be the motor, but I don't want to replace that if it is something more simple. Any suggestions?

Re: 1999 Cavalier Z24 window
The motor is overheating and shutting down. As cavzilla said there are several threads on this already. I wrote up a quickie procedure here about how to replace a motor from the top of my head. The motors are around $40 to replace yourself. It's not hard if you have the proper tools.
