Stutters when shifting from Park to Reverse; 5 second delay before engaging

All,

I have a couple of issues here.

1. In the morning, when I shift from Park to Reverse, for a second it seems to "choke" like the engine is going to die, but then acts normal.

2. When I back up out of a parking space, come to a complete stop, and shift into Drive, if I just sit there stopped, it takes about 5 seconds before it actually engages into Drive.

Maybe #2 is normal and I have never noticed it. Not too sure. If anyone has any info, it would be appreciated.

Thanks

Ok, first off, clean and reinstall you IAC valve.

Second, it is time to go get your tranny fluid completely changed and then go to the dealer and get the tranny filter changed.

First clean the IAC and maybe consider doing the following:

Fuel filter
Spark plugs AC Delco Platinum only
Cap & Rotor
Air Filter
PCV Valve
