Respect
So last weekend it was my uncles 50th birthday party, we had a bunch of guests over, including my cousin who has more money than i could ever hope to from an inheritence from his dad's(my other uncle) passing. Anyway he wanted to go for a ride in my car so i said "sure but it's not that fast really." I took him out did a few downshifts and launches and came back, he was somewhat impressed. Then his wife looked at us and said "why dont you take Josh for a ride in the Mustang?" Like a bunch of little school kids we went running...lol
I really have to say, and this is from a GM guy through and through. I am very impressed with the new Mustang GT's. That thing had me smiling the whole friggin time, and all i did was ride along. And they seem to have incredibly crazy top end, from riding along. It made my Eclipse seem like a puppy. His car was gorgeous, black with black leather, and the windows were darked out... First time i've ever said i would own any Ford was on that day... The funniest conversation took place between his wife Kelly and i when we got back... Her: I like your car, and that's quite a...big...exhaust on there...[/confusion] Me: Yeah and it only cost about $500 Her: ![]() Me: Yeah... Anyway the new Mustang gets two very big thumbs up from me, and a new found respect for Ford. |

Re: Respect
Ive heard nothing but great driving reviews from the mustang GT (havent heard about the V6)...the one thing that apparently was a great suprise was that the clutch was decently easy, and the throws were pretty short...4.6 is an award winning V8 and it costs what? $25,000 american? if I could afford the gas and insurance id purchase it

I've inherited one, which is a hell of a lot faster than the new Mustang, so i really can't compare since it's a 79 Z28, i dont drive it much at all because it's only got 7800 original miles on it(stays in the garage). But i have driven LS1 powered cars and i can tell you this thing could definately give it a run for it's money if not beat it with the right driver. |

Re: Respect
i know what you mean, i saw one run 13.4 at the track, stock expect for a differnt Ecu setup. I also raced one a while back, from a roll, from 40-70MPH we were dead even, then it just ran away from me. Those things are mad top end for sure. They are Ls1 killers.

The only respect I have for the new Mustang GT is the powertrain. I can't stand how it looks.

Re: Respect
I've recently run a New Mustang GT and while I do like the way it looks and it is very quick. I can tell you for a fact that stock for stock a LS1 F-body would beat it, although a good or bad driver for either one, can change that.
PS - I am not saying this cause I am a current F-body owner and F-body mod,. Ask Gtstang, I am currently in the market for a Mustang and have owned them in the past. Not being biased just from what I gathered.

Drunken moderator ramblings....because let's be honest...what else is there to do at 4am? Yeah as far as being an LS1 killer, after driving both at work, and also seeing a ws6 race a new GT, the ls1 is still faster. But as Formula said, a driver can change that.
