Jack stand positioning

Okay, so the problem is that my car lift isn't lifting the front end of my 97 taurus high enough for me to get my jack stands under the proper spots to support my car. If I jack up one side of my car first I then can get the jack stands under each side.

However, something doesn't look right. Am I placing the jackstands in the wrong spot? I thought they went where the groove was if you wanted to jack one side and change a tire. But the jackstands aren't fitting properly.

Where is my error?

Re: Jack stand positioning

Maybe you need to kind of "step up" the elevation until the jack stand fits under the spot you want it? How about some wood blocking until is high enough or is this of any help? Otherwise I really don't know..

Cool

I jack up the car using the side slot and then place my jackstand under the control arm.
