PLEASE HELP ME - 2001 Sunfire Won't Start
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME!!!
I was working on a friend's 2001 Sunfire - (removing car stereo and amplifier to install in my car), and now it won't start. He's coming by in a couple hours to pick up the car and is gonna kill me if I don't fix this... I suspect something happened when I had to dissconnect the battery to remove the power wire going to the amp in the trunk. When I reconnected the battery and tried to start the car, it ran for 2 seconds then shut down. Now when I turn the key it won't start and I have no idea what's wrong with it. It's not completely dead cause it still makes that starting sound when you turn the key, but the engine won't pick up. I suspect it could be something to do with the anti-theft system or computer, I hope. I don't know what else it could be. Car was working great when he dropped it off. I didn't touch anything other than the stereo and battery. Is there anyway that I can fix this? Reset the anti-theft system or computer? Any ideas at all would really help me. As you probably suspect, I don't know much about cars, especially this Sunfire. I've installed many car stereos in the past, but never had this problem. Please help me!!! |

Did you cut anything? I don't know much about the harness of >2k models but if you cut something, you might have cut a jumper wire or something.

No I didn't cut anything, I was very careful. Everything is fine now anyways. I went back out about an hour later and she started just fine. Weird!

Glad to hear that. Maybe it got mad at you for removing the stereo. I would get mad if someone ripped out my voice box.
