Question d15b7 to d16y8 questions

i have a 93 civic lx with a stock d15b7 in it,and just got a great deal on a d16y8 out of a 99 ex i also have tha ecu out of the 99....n e way...i know tha motor will bolt right in,but my problems come with how will i get vtec to engage,and do i have to use the 99 ex ecu...i'm trying to get around having to swap out the entire harness....if anyone can please help me with some pointers to get thru this swap i will be greatly aprreciative..thanks.....Phillip

http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=550976 6th post down. You'll also need an OBD1 to OBD2b conversion harness to connect the ECU, and if it applies you need to wire in the secondary O2 sensor (I'm not sure if it has 1 or 2 off the top of my head).
