Fake GTA?
I did a little research on what the GTA really was an uncovered that you could not order a 88gta t/a with the L-98 350cid TPI engine with T-tops because the cars frame could bend. Now i just bought myself a GTA, 350 and T-tops and looks exactly how it should. bucket seats, diamond spoke rims, new deck so i dunno if it was the original one with the equalizer that came with the GTA option package, but does anyone know how i could find out if my car is a real GTA other then checking the vin code?

Wouldnt think so. The vin is the way you make sure what your car is.

Re: Fake GTA?
Are the t-tops factory? I found out the hard way that mine were not (they are smaller, and I did the same research you did) and that means it probably is a GTA just with aftermarket tops. Best way to tell would be to find someone else with a close match and compare the t-top structure.

for 35$ dollars or so you can submit your VIN to the Pontiac historical services and they'll give you a complete rundown on your car. copy of the window sticker, options, etc.. everything you'd want to know.
